Trees Canadensis started in 2016 with two people, Owen Clarkin and J.L. Mason, primarily as a means to record and disseminate our experiences with and appreciation of native trees and shrubs gained from hundreds of field trips across Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. The serendipitous advent of the cloud-based citizen science platform iNaturalist has facilitated our recording of observations (photos, locations, maps) and sharing of accumulated knowledge on the web site.
Our intention has always been to expand this forum to include information and discoveries from our nemophilist friends who often share the thrill of exploring new places with one or both of us. As this site evolves they will also become part of Trees Canadensis.
